Welcome on blog!

Hello, and welcome on blog! My name is San. It's good to be here, and I am glad you come to visit. In case you are wondering who I am and why I am dabbling with blogs/vlogs/<...>logs, I hope this small introduction helps. I am currently working in the fintech software industry. I have read many blogs of many different interests, and I do find a lot of useful things in those. I do aspire to have a blog of my own where I can capture things of my interest. My hope is that these blogs could be my online, forever notes that I can refer to in the future. Since it is public and others, like you, could stumble upon them, I hope the search engine or whatever it is that leads you here does not mislead you. I hope the content is somewhat useful for you and related to the kind of information you are looking for. If they do, then I certainly hope you will drop a note or comment of what you think of the blog content.

Before I begin with specific topics, what are my interests? For now, I plan to write things about travel, food, Chinese metaphysics, real estate and horticulture. In the future, I may add other topics if/when I find inspirations to write about those. I will try to post at least one article each week, or more when I am inspired.

Travel - I like to travel with my family that include children under 10 years old (for now). Once in a while, I also travel with some family members who have mobility issues. Consequently, my travel choices are influenced by these considerations. Since I live in California, you might also find that quite a bit of my local travel stories covers destinations in California. I also like to do armchair traveling - when you research a destination, create an itinerary and plan for your future trip. For me it's a fun way to spend some free time with a result that would be useful when I finally go on that trip. Of course, you are also invited to give the planned itinerary a try if it so happens to fit your need. Any comment, input, feedback or constructive criticism are definitely welcome.

Food - I like cooking, but I also like eating good food. I am not much of a baker though I try dabble in it every once in a while. I plan to publish some of my favorite recipes in the future.

Chinese Metaphysics - What are these? I dabble quite a bit in Bazi, Feng Shui, Qi Men and Yi Jing. Bazi is like the roadmap of your life challenges and opportunities based on the date and time of your birth. This roadmap is not intended to be a constraint for you, but rather like a treasure map of your life. What is the treasure that you'll find at the end of the journey? Well of course, it is your life full potential. Feng Shui is the technique of aligning yourself to the universal energy so that you can harness it to help you achieve what you want to achieve. How do you do this? By positioning yourself in the most advantageous earthly location while you are doing the activities intended to achieve your goal. Qi Men takes the universal energy a step further by incorporating the time and space to help you find clarity, or to manifest your aspirations in the most effective way. Yi Jing is something I am still learning myself, and from what I know it gives you meaning and contentment to what you have achieved (or simply done) in your life no matter what. If these descriptions of the Chinese Metaphysics sounds like something you have heard before, perhaps you heard, seen or attended one of Joey Yap's event. His metaphysics school of thoughts is what I follow. (For more information, check Joey Yap).

Real estate - I guess the phrase says it all. I may be writing about home restoration/improvement, some new trends in real estate investment, some resources available for you to research a neighborhood or region, and perhaps some recommendations for companies that provide services based on my own experience.

Horticulture - I like planting even though I have to admit that my results vary. I grow plants for food as well as decoration. One type of decorative plants that I have a lot of interests in is succulents. I find the sturdy nature of succulents is very intriguing, and they are very versatile that thrive well both indoors and outdoors. As I learn how to handle this type of plant and master the process of creating an enticing succulent terrarium, I will document what I find out here.

I think this is a long enough (hopefully not too long) introduction of my blog. I hope you come again soon to check articles, pictures or videos that I plan to post in the future.

    Happy reading! ~San
